Mohammad Rizwan, Imam ul Haq interrogated by Pakistan's Cyber Crime agency

Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam ul Haq have been questioned by the National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore, following their return from England. Rizwan and Imam were sent home along with five other cricketers midway through the ongoing Test series following their 194-run defeat in the second Test at Lord’s.

The duo appeared before the NCCIA on September 10 after being summoned by the agency. According to Cricinfo, one of the players was interrogated for several hours. It isn’t clear what the two players were questioned about or whether it’s a part of Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) inquiry into the team’s poor performance in England.

Notably, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had said that they will launch an enquiry into the team’s poor show in England. Naqvi claimed that the team’s dismal show was due to several reasons apart from on-field performances, including discipline and players’ conduct.

One of the players has reportedly been given a questionnaire to respond to and return to the NCCIA next week. Both Rizwan and Imam didn’t have a great tour of England as they failed to perform in both the Test matches.

Imam's controversial injury during 2nd Test

Rizwan accumulated just 61 runs from four innings, with the highest score of 41. On the other hand, Imam scored 42 runs from two innings. The opener didn’t come out to bat in the second Test after suffering a grade-1 tear in his left calf after the first day's play at Lord's. He didn’t take the field for the rest of the match.

He came out to practice before the start of play on Day 3 and was seen limping while facing some throwdowns. However, the PCB and the Pakistan cricketing fraternity were unhappy with Imam for not coming out to bat for the rest of the match. PCB's chief selector and director of high performance, Aqib Javed, also publicly questioned Imam's injury and promised to launch an inquiry.
