Pakistan and the UAE have announced their squads for the Hong Kong Sixes 2026. Pakistan have named a relatively youthful side for the tournament, with bowling allrounder Abbas Afridi set to captain the team. The 12-team competition will be held at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong from October 30 to November 1, with the teams divided into four groups of three.

Meanwhile, the UAE have appointed Khalid Shah as captain of their seven-member squad. They have been placed in Group C alongside Pakistan and India.

Pakistan entered this edition of the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes as the defending champions and began their title defence with a four-wicket win over Kuwait. A minor setback followed when they suffered a narrow two-run defeat to arch-rivals India via the DLS method. They bounced back in style, beating South Africa by five wickets in the quarterfinals.

Pakistan were then pushed to the limit by Australia in the first semifinal, eventually scraping through by just one run. The final brought a rematch of their tournament opener against Kuwait, and Pakistan produced a dominant display to seal the title, cruising to a comprehensive 43-run victory.

Pakistan squad:

Mohammad Abbas Afridi (captain), Abdul Samad, Ahmed Daniyal, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Khawaja Nafay, Muhammad Shahzad, Saad Masood.

UAE squad:

Ansh Tandon, Khalid Shah (captain), Maroof Merchant, Muhammad Faraazuddin, Muhammad Farooq, Muhammad Zuhaib, Zahid Ali.
