The Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) came to an end as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) successfully defended their title, beating Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the final. It was the result of pre-season preparations, constant planning and stupendous performances that culminated in a historic consecutive podium finishes for the RCB.

While it was the second title for most RCB players, for others it was their third or fourth title, having earlier tasted IPL glory while playing for other teams. In the rich history of the IPL, there have been a few players who’ve had to wait for an eternity to win their first title, while there have also been a few who’ve continuously added trophies to their cabinet one after the other.

As another IPL season comes to a close, here are a few players who’ve won the most finals and have the most IPL titles to their names:

3. MS Dhoni (5 titles)

The legendary wicketkeeper-batter is counted amongst the greatest players to have graced the tournament with their presence. Dhoni is the heartbeat of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), having guided his team to the joint-record five titles. Despite leaving captaincy in 2024, the Dhoni Mania continues to sweep over the IPL fandom. Dhoni didn't feature in a single game throughout IPL 2026, but fans are eagerly hoping for his return in 2027 to add another trophy to his glittering cabinet.

2. Ambati Rayudu (6 titles)

Throughout his IPL career, Ambati Rayudu never hogged the limelight but silently did his work, making crucial contributions to his team’s success. Rayudu first enjoyed a successful tenure at Mumbai Indians (MI) for the first eight years of his career, winning three titles with them in 2013, 2015 and 2017. He later switched bases to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and further added three more titles (2018, 2021 and 2023) to his trophy cabinet before retiring on a triumphant note in 2023.

1. Rohit Sharma (6 titles)

Rohit Sharma rose to the limelight after a phenomenal season for the Deccan Chargers in 2009, where he won the Emerging Player of the Year award after playing a key role in his team’s title triumph. Rohit’s career further took a dramatic turn when he was awarded Mumbai Indians’ captaincy midway through the 2013 season. He went on to guide the team to its maiden trophy victory in his first season as captain. Rohit made MI a powerhouse of the IPL under his leadership, guiding them to five titles within just eight years.
