Rawalpindiz continued their dismal run in the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026), losing their fifth successive fixture of the season against Quetta Gladiators by 61 runs on Friday, April 10 at National Stadium, Karachi. After being put in to bat first, Quetta posted a good score of 182/6 in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, Rawalpindiz were bundled out for 121 in 17.3 overs with Jahandad Khan, Saud Shakeel and Usman Tariq taking two wickets each.
Earlier in the day, Quetta lost their opener Sam Harper (8 off 7) cheaply, who lost his stumps against Ben Sears. Rilee Rossouw walked in at number three and stitched a massive 87-run stand off 67 balls with captain Saud Shakeel (42 off 39).

Following their dismissals, Hasan Nawaz (39 off 16) and Jahandad Khan (21* off 6) played crucial cameos to help their team cross the 180-run mark. In the second innings, Rawalpindiz’s chase got off to the worst possible start with the wicket of their captain, Mohammad Rizwan, on the very first delivery.
From there on, things only went downhill as even Usman Khawaja (7 off 5) got run out cheaply. After the early blows, Yasir Khan (22 off 14), Daryl Mitchell (30 off 32), Abdullah Fazal (20 off 19) and Saad Masood 31 off 19), tried to stabilise the innings but were no match to Quetta’s quality spin attack, who hunted in pack to trigger Rawalpindiz’s collapse.
As a result, Quetta rose to fifth spot, registering their second win of the season, while Rawalpindiz continued to reel at the bottom of the points table, yet to open their account after five games.

Player of the Match
Rilee Rossouw was adjudged Player of the Match for his magnificent half-century. He scored 53 runs off 42 balls, smashing six fours and a six. He got involved in an 87-run stand off 67 balls with Saud Shakeel to stabilise Quetta's innings after the early wicket, which also proved to be the turning point of the match.
What did the captains say:
Winning Captain, Saud Shakeel (Quetta Gladiators):
We batted first and discussed what would be a good score. In 2 overs, we felt 160-165 was going to be a good score. The batters who got a start needed to go deep, it was going to be difficult for the new batter. Rilee Rossouw and I planned it the same way. Credit to Hasan Nawaz and Jahandad Khan, they capitalized on most of the opportunity. Our team's strength is spin and we added an extra spinner. We knew a good total would help us. We played a new boy and he too did well.
Losing Captain, Mohammad Rizwan (Rawalpindiz):
We have tried hard, but the top order has been a struggle, so we sent Khawaja at the top and brought Ben Sears. We could have restricted them to 140-150, but credit to Hasan Nawaz, they took them to 180 which was a bit too much. I've belief in myself, if I don't lead from the front, my team will struggle. I will try my best; the rest is up to the almighty. We need to play with courage, ups and downs are part of the game. 5 matches remain; if we play well, we might qualify for the playoffs.
