Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter Parvez Hossain Emon has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026) due to a shoulder injury. Emon had an on-field collision with his teammate Asif Ali during Lahore Qalandars’ third game against Multan Sultans in Lahore, which resulted in a ligament tear.

Lahore informed about Emon’s unavailability for the rest of the season after the toss for the ongoing match against Peshawar Zalmi. He will leave the team after the conclusion of the game.

"MRI scans confirmed a ligament tear, and he has been advised to undergo a period of rest and rehabilitation over the coming weeks. Following a careful assessment, it has been decided to release him from the squad, with a replacement to be announced in due course,” Qalandars said in a statement.

It was a debut season for Emon in the PSL, where he played three matches for Lahore and scored 71 runs in three innings at a strike rate of over 161. His best innings came against Multan Sultans, where his blistering knock of 45 off 19 balls helped Lahore post a massive score of 185 for 3 in a rain-curtailed 13-over contest and eventually set up a 20-run victory for his team.

Lahore placed sixth on points table

He was rested during his team’s last fixture against Islamabad United, which they lost by nine wickets. Meanwhile, Lahore are placed sixth on the points table with two wins from four matches, having four points to their name.

They started the tournament with a massive 69-run victory against Hyderabad Kingsmen, but lost to Karachi Kings by 4 wickets in their second game. The Shaheen Afridi-led side further registered second win of the season against Multan before losing their fourth game against Islamabad.
