Lahore Qalandars’ captain Shaheen Afridi and all-rounder Sikandar Raza have been accused of breaching security protocols of the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026). The duo allegedly brought unauthorised visitors to the team hotel, according to Punjab police.
Afridi and Raza are accused of forcefully bringing four visitors at night on Saturday, March 28, to one of the players' hotel rooms, where they stayed for around three hours, according to a letter written by a deputy police inspector to PSL CEO Salman Naseer.

The matter came to light after the letter was widely shared on social media. According to ESPNCricinfo, Qalandars' Liaison Officer allegedly approached the PCB's (Pakistan Cricket Board) security and anti-corruption manager, asking permission for Raza to bring four people known to him into his hotel room.
However, the request was declined, prompting Qalandars owner, Sameen Rana, to ask Naseer's permission for the same, only for it to be declined again on security grounds.
Despite not being granted permission for the outsiders’ entry, Afridi and Raza forcefully escorted the four visitors into the hotel against the rules. The duo even went against the resistance from on-duty security personnel, the viral letter claims. The incident is being seen as a clear violation of protocols designed to ensure the safety and integrity of players and officials.
Lahore Qalandars confirm incident
Lahore Qalandars confirmed the incident and revealed that they’re in talks with PSL regarding the matter.
“We are aware of an incident involving two Lahore Qalandars players, and are in communication with the PSL over the matter," Umar Farooq, Qalandars' head of media, told ESPNcricinfo.
The PSL 2026 is being held behind closed doors to save fuel and energy amid its scarcity due to the ongoing West Asia crisis. Stringent security measures have also been put in place for the ongoing season, with cordons and checkpoints set up outside the hotels. Meanwhile, Lahore began their title defence with a 69-run win over Hyderabad Kingsmen in the season opener.
