Ravindra Jadeja's celebration of Nicholas Pooran's wicket during match No. 32 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season has taken the internet by fire. Fans have started creating memes around it, and it is being shared across social media platforms.

The peculiarity of the celebration seems to have resonated well with the fans, and they just can't seem to get over it.

The incident, which has now gone viral, occurred on the fourth delivery of the 10th over of Lucknow's 160-run chase. Pooran, who is known for his intrepid batting approach, had been tied down by the Rajasthan Royals bowlers for a long time. He was desperate to get loose and chose Jadeja's ball to break the shackles and hit his first six of the night.

It was a length ball delivered from around the wicket, landed around the off-stump channel and was going further away from the West Indian with the angle. Pooran fancied his chances and decided to go downtown over long-on. However, he ended up hitting it straight down Donovan Ferriera's throat and trudged off the field for a 25-ball 22.

As Pooran made way to his dugout, Jadeja gestured toward his left pocket, suggesting that he had pocketed the big fish.

Jadeja was adjudged the Player of the Match (POTM) for scoring an unbeaten 43 off 29 balls and returning figures of 1/29. During the post-match presentation, cricketer-turned-commentator Murali Kartik asked him about his celebration, and Jadeja responded in his unfiltered manner.

"I was trying to look into your pocket whether Nicholas Pooran is there or not," said Kartik.

"Yeah, he is in my pocket. Just randomly thought came into my mind and I did it," replied Jadeja.

Jadeja's heroics have helped Royals climb to the second spot on the points table. The winners of the inaugural edition now have 10 points with five wins and two losses after seven fixtures.
