India have been jolted badly before the start of the three-match ODI series against England as Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy have been ruled out with hamstring injuries.

The BCCI has revealed that Rana has suffered a Grade 1 hamstring injury after feeling discomfort during the third T20I. He will now head back to the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for his recovery.

Chakravarthy also experienced similar discomfort in the same game at Trent Bridge in Nottingham, and a subsequent MRI scan revealed a Grade 2 hamstring injury. He has also been ruled out of the upcoming three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe starting July 23. The right-arm mystery spinner will also report to the BCCI CoE for his complete recovery.

Prince Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi have been announced as the replacements for both Rana and Chakravarthy for the ODI series against England and the subsequent T20I tour of Zimbabwe.

Both Prince and Bishnoi were also a part of India's T20I squad against England. Prince claimed two wickets in three games, averaging 59.00 and at an economy rate of 10.72. Meanwhile, Bishnoi was only picked for one game, and it turned out to be a horrid experience for the right-arm leg-spinner.

Bishnoi ended up leaking 60 runs in his four overs, at an alarming economy rate of 15.00 and also bowled back-foot no-balls which proved to be decisive in the end.
