India’s teen batting sensation, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, got involved in a physical fight against Sri Lanka A players, following the tri-nation series game between the two teams on Monday, June 18, at Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium, Dambulla. India A lost the thrilling fixture in the super over, after failing to chase down the target of 17 runs. Sooryavanshi remained unbeaten on 6 off three deliveries as India could only score seven runs against Kugathas Mathulan.
Following Sri Lanka’s victory, their players were over the moon and began celebrating ecstatically around Sooryavanshi and his batting partner Suryansh Shedge. During the celebration, they even engaged in a verbal altercation with Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. However, the teen batter was in no mood to take any of it as he charged at a player and even physically pushed him with his hand.

Seeing the situation getting out of hand, umpires and other players had to intervene to calm things down in the middle.
What is this aggressive behavior from Vaibhav Suryavanshi? Is this what the richest board, @BCCI, teaches them? Shame." pic.twitter.com/SwTde9U7oV

Even while walking back to the pavilion, Sooryavanshi was seen shouting angrily at one of the players. However, the rest of the team members maintained the sportsman’s spirit and shook hands after the match.
Will Sooryavanshi face sanctions?
It remains to be seen if the BCCI will impose sanctions on Sooryavanshi for charging physically at a member of the opponent team, and whether it will impact his appearance on his upcoming debut senior men’s international tour of Ireland.
Earlier, Sooryavanshi was dismissed for 21 (14) as India A were in deep trouble after being reduced to 143/7 in 32.1 overs. However, Suryansh Shedge (72 off 66) and Vipraj Nigam (51 off 49) rescued their innings with a 104-run stand off 90 balls for the eighth wicket. Courtesy of their partnership, India managed to post a respectable score of 265 in 49.2 overs.
In reply, Sri Lanka A managed to tie riding on a magnificent innings of Sadeera Samarawickrama (93 off 113). For India A, Ayush Badoni (2/45, 9 overs) emerged as the pick of the bowlers.
