Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will send Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s parents to Ireland and England as the teen prodigy embarks on his first tour with the Indian senior men’s cricket team. Sooryavanshi has already etched his name in the history books, becoming the youngest Indian player to earn a national call-up at the age of 15.

The teen batting sensation has been selected in the T20I squads for the upcoming tour of Ireland and England, as well as the Asian Games 2026. Considering Sooryavanshi’s tender age, the BCCI has decided to allow his parents to travel with him on the tour and help him settle in the new environment.

“As he is a child, we have decided to allow his parents to accompany him to Ireland and England, so that they can be with him and help him settle in the new environment. The Board will cover all their expenses,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia told Sportstar.

Sooryavanshi is currently with the India A side for a tri-nation series against Afghanistan A and hosts Sri Lanka A, set to begin on June 9. However, Devajit Saikia has hinted that Sooryavanshi might have to leave the series midway to be with the senior Indian men’s team, which will play a two-match T20Is against Ireland, beginning on June 26.

If Soooryavanshi does go on to make his debut this year, he will become the youngest player to play for India, surpassing the legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar’s record, who made his India debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days against Pakistan in 1989.

Sooryavanshi's record-breaking IPL 2026

Sooryavanshi is fresh from a record-breaking Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) campaign, where he became the youngest player ever to win the Orange Cap award for finishing as the leading run scorer of the tournament.

The southpaw hammered 776 runs from 16 innings at an average of 48.50 and a record strike rate of 237.30 with one hundred and five fifties to his name. He also broke legendary batter Chris Gayle’s record for hitting the most sixes in a single IPL season (52) by clobbering a whopping 72 maximums in the 2026 edition.

The teenager has been on a record-breaking spree in his young career so far, and will be expected to continue his fireworks at the international level as well.
