Star India batter Virat Kohli was seen having a conversation with teen batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who was honoured with multiple awards at the end of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). Sooryavanshi had a dream campaign, finishing as the leading run scorer of the tournament with a whopping 776 runs from 16 innings at an average of 48.50 and a strike rate of 237.30.

After Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by five wickets in the IPL 2026 final, Kohli was seen sharing his wisdom with Sooryavanshi. RCB have now released the complete conversation between the duo, along with the audio. In the viral clip, Kohli can be seen encouraging Sooryavanshi to keep aiming higher and not pay much heed to the outside noise.

“Yaha se upar jana hai. Jo huya hai woh achi mehnat aur belief ke wajah se huya. Kaun kya bol raha hai, kaise bol raha hai... Ek Bihari sab pe bhaari. Khatam game (From here, you only go higher. Whatever has happened is because of your hard work and belief. Doesn't matter what people say or how they say it. A Bihari beats them all. End of story),” said Kohli in the video shared by RCB.

Sooryavanshi to next play for India A

Sooryavanshi broke multiple records with his belligerent batting during IPL 2026. He became the youngest player ever to win the Orange Cap award for finishing as the leading run scorer of the tournament at the age of 15. He also shattered the 14-year-old record of legendary batter Chris Gayle (59) of hitting the most sixes in a single IPL season.

Sooryavanshi finished the tournament with 72 sixes to etch his name in the record books. He was also bestowed with the Emerging Player of the Year and the Most Valuable Player of the Season awards as well. Meanwhile, after the IPL, Sooryavanshi will be next seen playing for India A in a tri-series against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka, beginning on June 9.
