Zimbabwe to host Team India for T20I series in July

After their remarkable performance at the recently concluded ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Zimbabwe are all set to host the reigning T20 World Champions, Team India, for a T20I series. The three-match T20I series will be played at the Harare Sports Club.

The bilateral contest will get underway on July 23, with the second and third games to be played on consecutive days, on July 25 and 26, respectively.

Zimbabwe Cricket Managing Director, Givemore Makoni, feels the series against India will be a wonderful opportunity for the Chevrons to polish their skills and add to their remarkable outing at the T20 World Cup.

“Matches against India always generate enormous interest and this is a fantastic opportunity for our players to test themselves against the world champions on home soil,” Makoni was quoted as saying by the ICC.

“Following our encouraging performances at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, this series gives us a strong platform to build momentum and continue growing as a competitive force in international cricket.”

For the uninitiated, Zimbabwe will also tour India for the first time since 2002, for a three-match ODI series in January 2027. Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Mumbai will host the series.

“It is a landmark moment for Zimbabwe to be touring India again for a bilateral ODI series after more than two decades,” Makoni said while speaking about the landmark series.

“India is one of the premier destinations in world cricket and this tour represents both an honour and a valuable opportunity for our players.

“We are looking forward to competitive and high-quality cricket and we believe this engagement will further strengthen the relationship between the two cricketing nations while providing invaluable exposure for our team.”

India's T20I tour of Zimbabwe 2026
