Prince Yadav once again rose to the occasion for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Match 50 of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Under the bright lights and mounting pressure of a high-scoring contest, the LSG pacer showcased why he has emerged as one of the breakout stars of IPL 2026.

Having already made headlines with his stupendous bowling performances in the season, Yadav again delivered when his team needed him the most. Defending a target of 213 in the rain-curtailed 19-over clash, he bowled a spell full of courage and intelligence to finish with impressive figures of 3/33.

The right-arm speedster scalped three wickets in the match, including Jitesh Sharma and Devdutt Padikkal. However, it was his first wicket that brought Yadav the most joy, having got the better of star batter Virat Kohli. It took just two deliveries for the youngster to get the most prized wicket in world cricket.

Yadav started with an outswinger, having a slip in place and invited a drive from Kohli against the moving ball. However, the RCB opener was up for the challenge as he defended it to the off-side. What followed on the next delivery was a masterclass in deception.

Kohli's advice brings his own downfall

On the second ball, Yadav again hit the good length, however, this time the ball seamed in sharply and sneaked through Kohli’s bat and pad to uproot his off-stump.

Having sent Kohli’s stumps flying for a two-ball duck, Yadav was over the moon as he ecstatically leapt in the air and punched it in delight, letting out a loud roar. After the game, the 24-year-old revealed the planning behind the wicket and mentioned how it was only Kohli’s advice that helped him get his wicket.

“After the last match, I was talking to Virat bhaiya (brother) and he only told me that as long as it's moving around off a length, stick to that length. I just did that and got the result in the form of his wicket,” said Yadav in the post-match interview.

LSG's new pace sensation continues rapid rise

Yadav further returned in the 11th over to help break a massive 95-run stand off 53 balls between Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal, by dismissing the latter. Four balls later, he bounced out Jitesh Sharma, to bring LSG firmly back into the game.

It was another night to remember for the young seamer, who’s now the joint second-highest wicket taker of IPL 2026 with 16 scalps from ten innings at an average of 18.68 and an economy of 8.08. With his consistent performances, he’s already become the heartbeat of LSG’s bowling attack.

As Yadav continues his dream run in the ongoing season, he’s gradually establishing himself as a fearless young pacer unafraid of big moments, big names and even bigger expectations.
