Dubai-raised cricket talent Ayaan Misbah becomes one of the youngest players to step into the UAE men’s national setup

Dubai, UAE: At just 17, Dubai-raised cricketer Ayaan Misbah has earned a place in the UAE men’s cricket squad, marking a significant milestone in a journey that began on the cricket grounds of Dubai when he was just five.

Ayaan, who has trained at Danube Sports World's cricket facility (Danube Cricket Academy), has spent the past 12 years developing his game through early mornings, regular training sessions and competitive cricket in the UAE. His progression through the youth ranks has now culminated in his call-up to the national setup.

His recent performances have helped establish him as one of the UAE’s promising young cricketing talents. Ayaan previously captained the UAE U16 side at the Asia Cup, where he finished among the top five individual run-scorers in the tournament. He has also represented Dubai and was named Best Player in the Bukhatir League, further highlighting his consistency across different levels of competition.

Ayaan’s development has been closely guided by Coach Raiphi Gomez, who has played an important role in shaping his cricketing journey at Danube Cricket Academy.

Gomez brings extensive professional experience to the academy, having previously captained Kerala in the Ranji Trophy and played in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Pune Warriors. He has also worked with the Rajasthan Royals as an academy coach and served as an IPL development coach, while training several established cricketers, including Sanju Samson.

"Ayaan has also made his mark in one-day cricket, holding a notable record for hitting 5 sixes in a single over, showcasing the aggressive batting ability that has become a key part of his game. Ayaan’s journey from a five-year-old picking up a cricket bat in Dubai to representing the UAE at the national level also highlights the growing opportunities available to young athletes in the country," said Gomez.

Through Danube Cricket Academy, aspiring cricketers have access to structured coaching and professional guidance as they work towards progressing through the competitive cricket pathway. The Danube Cricket Academy is a one stop destination for budding cricketers, offering the prerequisite facilities needed to harness talent and develop an in-depth understanding of the sport.

As Ayaan takes his next step into the UAE men’s setup, his story is also a reminder that the next generation of cricketing talent could already be developing on the pitches of Dubai.
