Match Preview
West Indies Women and Australia Women clash in the first ODI of the three-match series at Warner Park in St Kitts on Friday, March 27.
The home team was involved in an ODI series against Sri Lanka last month which they lost by a 1-2 margin. The team's form, on the whole, is abysmal as they have been struggling to succeed in recent times. Their latest opposition in the 50-over format, Australia, will be relentless and it is going to be a tough task for the Women in Maroon to compete sustainably.

Australia are coming into this series on the back of a thumping 3-0 victory at home against India recently. Alyssa Healy signed off with a dominating 158 and the Aussies romped home by 185 runs after scoring 409. That is an ominous sign for the West Indies as even without Healy, the team is still a very strong one.
There is a bit of uncertainty over Ashleigh Gardner who is suffering from a hamstring strain. However, she was training on the eve of this game and a final call will be taken before the match. Captain Sophie Molineux is expected to continue with her limited role while not many changes are anticipated from the most recent T20I XI.

Players to watch out for in WI-W vs AUS-W
Stafanie Taylor (WI-W):
Taylor is in good form of late. The right-hand batter is getting starts and producing crucial contributions across formats. However, she would be gutted to have let a couple of starts go to waste in the T20I series. In the most recent ODI series that the West Indies were involved in against Sri Lanka, Taylor finished as the second-highest scorer with 126 runs including a highest of 66.
Lucy Hamilton (AUS-W):
The 19-year-old has stormed into the international arena with impressive bowling performances and loads of promise. Hamilton has played one match in each format and produced a match-haul of six wickets against India in the only Test. Although the left-arm quick failed to scalp a wicket in the only ODI she was a part of, on West Indian surfaces she is likely to keep the run flow tight and produce wickets in her 10 overs.
