IPL 2026: Teams with most wins after losing the toss this season

The Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026) has been mostly tilted in favour of teams winning the toss, who’ve won 34 out of 65 matches so far. Winning the toss and fielding first has been the popular choice in the ongoing season, as teams have won on 33 occasions out of 54 matches with this strategy.

While some teams have been lucky with the toss, some haven’t been that fortunate, as it hasn’t fallen in their favour on most occasions. However, they haven’t allowed it to affect their campaign and still went on to register crucial wins. Here are three such teams who’ve won the most matches in the ongoing season after losing the toss:

3. Gujarat Titans

Gujarat didn’t get off to a flying start to the ongoing season, losing their first two matches. However, they gained momentum from the third game onwards and went on to win eight out of their following 11 games. GT are also the third most successful team after losing the toss in the ongoing season, having won four out of seven matches.

2. Chennai Super Kings

The Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side has had a see-saw kind of campaign as they’re currently placed seventh on the IPL 2026 points table with six wins from 13 matches. CSK lost their first three matches on the trot before finding some rhythm midway through the season, and are still alive in the playoffs race. The Yellow Army has won five out of nine matches after losing the toss, making them rank second in the list.

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad

Sunrisers Hyderabad have had a campaign to remember so far as they’ve sealed their spot in the playoffs and also have a great chance of finishing in the top two positions. SRH have lost most tosses this season, but it hasn’t affected their performances as they’ve won seven out of ten matches.
