Tristan Stubbs’ journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) began much before his international debut, as he was signed by Mumbai Indians (MI) for the 2022 season. However, he played only two matches in his first edition and failed to make any impact.
He finally made an appearance in South Africa colours during a T20I against India in June 2022 and further made his ODI debut against the West Indies in 2023. On the IPL front, he again had limited opportunities for MI in 2023, playing just two matches.

Stubbs was released by MI ahead of the 2024 season and got acquired by Delhi Capitals, where he finally proved his worth. He was the second-highest run scorer for DC in 2024, with 378 runs from 13 innings at an average of 54 and a strike rate of 190.90 with three half-centuries.
