Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been penalised heavily by the match referee for breaching Level 1 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct for Players and Team officials during match No. 38 of the ongoing season between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
KKR's emerging wicketkeeper batter was found guilty of breaching Article 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct, which deals with “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings during a Match.”

The incident unfolded on the last delivery of the fifth over of KKR's innings when he punched a back-of-length delivery on middle and off stump to mid-on and set off for a quick single. However, he was sent back from halfway by his partner at the non-striker's end, Cameron Green.
Mohammed Shami, who was deployed at mid-on, fielded the ball cleanly and had a shy at the stumps at Raghuvanshi's (striker's) end. Raghuvanshi copped the throw, and the LSG fielders appealed for obstruction of the field. The on-field umpires referred it to the third umpire, Rohan Pandit, who, after careful consideration, felt that Raghuvanshi deliberately came in line of the throw and adjudged him out obstructing the field.
Livid at the decision, Raghuvanshi hit the boundary skirting aggressively with his bat on the way to the dugout and also slammed his helmet once he entered the KKR dugout. In addition to the 20% fine, Raghuvanshi has also accumulated one demerit point.
However, "Raghuvanshi admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction."
KKR sink LSG in IPL 2026's maiden Super Over clash
The game turned out to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Mohammed Shami's last ball six off Kartik Tyagi pushed the match into a Super Over after the scores were tied at 155.
Sunil Narine killed LSG's hopes of setting the Super Over on fire by dismissing both Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram on the first and third ball. In reply, Rinku Singh sliced the first ball from Prince Yadav through the off-side for a boundary and helped KKR seal a memorable game.
