England all-rounder Will Jacks has joined the Mumbai Indians (MI) camp ahead of their next fixture against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). MI are all set to lock horns with CSK in a highly anticipated clash of the season on Thursday, April 23, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Ahead of the fixture, they’ve been boosted by the return of Jacks, who was spotted training with the team for the game in Mumbai. Jacks was retained by MI for Rs 5.25 crore ahead of the season and was expected to provide a good balance to the squad with his all-round skills.

He recently featured in the T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka, playing a vital role for England's run to the semi-final during the tournament. Jacks scored 229 runs from eight innings at an average of 56.50 and a strike rate of 176.56 with one half-century to his name. He was equally effective with his off-spin, scalping nine wickets from seven innings with best figures of 3/22.

MI rise to seventh spot after beating GT

Jacks’ all-round show helped England win multiple matches, as he took home the joint-most Player of the Match awards (4) in a single edition. His arrival for the Indian Premier League was delayed as the all-rounder needed some time to recuperate amid a busy cricketing calendar.

His return couldn’t have come at a better time for MI, who recently ended their four-match losing streak with a massive 99-run victory over Gujarat Titans (GT). Tilak Verma was adjudged Player of the Match for his breathtaking 45-ball century, which guided his team to a good score of 199/5 in 20 overs.

In the second innings, Ashwani Kumar scalped a four-wicket haul to bundle out GT for just 100 in 15.5 overs. Following their massive win, MI rose to seventh spot on the points table with four points from six matches.
