Quinton de Kock and Raj Angad Bawa have been ruled out of the remaining two games of Mumbai Indians' IPL 2026 season. De Kock will leave for South Africa to nurse a tendon injury in his left wrist, whereas Bawa is out due to a ligament tear in his right thumb.

As per a media release issued by the five-time IPL champions, de Kock suffered the injury in the lead-up to their clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Wankhede on April 29. MI lost that game by six wickets as they failed to defend 243.

On the other hand, Bawa suffered a ligament tear during Mumbai's clash against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) in Dharamsala on May 14. MI won that game by six wickets as they successfully chased down 201 with six wickets and a ball to spare.

Mumbai have two more games left this season. They'll square off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 20. Their last appearance in the season will be against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at home in Mumbai on May 24.

Mumbai Indians have confirmed that they will announce their replacements in due course of time, abiding by the IPL guidelines. They are ninth on the points table and already out of playoff contention. However, they can certainly dent the chances of KKR and Rajasthan Royals (RR), who are still in the race for the playoffs.
