Bangladesh announced their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia as Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana returned to the team. The duo was rested for Bangladesh's last T20I series, against New Zealand in April. As a result, the selectors had to drop seamer Ripon Mondol and seam-bowling allrounder Mohammad Saifuddin to make room for Taskin and Rana.
Rana has just one T20I appearance to his name in his career, against UAE in May, 2025. On the other hand, Ahmed last played the shortest international format against Zimbabwe in October 2025. Alongside the duo, pacer Abdul Gaffar Saqlain, who was picked against New Zealand but didn't play a match in the series, has retained his place in the team.

Meanwhile, the selectors also unveiled the squad for the one-off Test against Zimbabwe, beginning on June 28. Towhid Hridoy has earned a call-up to the longest format as the selectors made four changes from the T20I squad against Australia.
Hridoy has played 52 ODIs and 59 T20Is in his career so far since making his international debut in 2023, but has yet to play Test cricket and has 16 First Class appearances to his name. Chief selector Habibul Bashar backed Hridoy, mentioning that he has been picked to add to the aggression with the bat.
Robiul Haque among new names in Test team
Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Shoriful Islam, Taskin and Rana have been rested from the Test squad as part of the team management's rotation policy. Among the new names was Robiul Haque, who has shown great potential as a fast-bowling allrounder.
Robiul has taken 107 wickets and scored 620 runs in 32 first-class matches. Right-arm seamer Khaled Ahmed has also marked his return to the Test team.
Bangladesh will play the three T20Is against Australia on June 17, 19 and 21 in Chattogram. The Test squad will leave for Harare on June 23, with the Test starting on June 28.
