West Indies registered their first Test series victory in over three years after the second Test against Sri Lanka ended in a draw at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua. Chasing a fourth-innings target of 302, West Indies reached 109/0 at the close of play and sealed the series 1-0, having already won the first Test by an innings and 217 runs.

It was also their first Test series victory over Sri Lanka after 23 years, as the hosts made a remarkable comeback after losing the ODI series to clinch the T20I and Test assignments. Sri Lanka came into Day 5 on 92/2, leading by 142 runs with Dinesh Chandimal (40*) and Kamindu Mendis (30*) at the crease.

While Mendis departed on 44, Chandimal scored a brilliant 71 to help his team build on their lead. Later, contributions from captain Dhananjaya de Silva (34), Sonal Dinusha (28) and Milan Priyanath Rathnayake (20) helped Sri Lanka extend their lead to 301 as they declared their second innings on 251/9.

Later, West Indies openers John Campbell (51*) and Brandon King (51*) batted for 40 overs, until both captains shook hands for a draw. As a result, West Indies registered their first Test series victory since a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe in February 2023.

Meanwhile, Justin Greaves was adjudged Player of the Match for his sensational innings of 180 in the first innings. He was also named Player of the Series for scoring 183 runs across two matches, along with taking four wickets.
