USA seamer Tara Norris has been traded to Mumbai Indians from UP Warriorz ahead of the Women’s Premier League 2027 (WPL 2027) auction. Norris has played five matches in her WPL career and scalped seven wickets at an average of 12.71. She joins the two-time champions at her existing fee of INR 10 Lakh.
Norris scripted history in the maiden edition of the WPL in 2023, becoming the first player from the Associate nations to be picked by a franchise. She was bought by Delhi Capitals (DC) at her base price of INR 10 lakh in the opening season.
Norris etched her name in the history books with her very first outing in the tournament, becoming the first bowler to register a five-wicket haul in WPL.
Meanwhile, the auction for the WPL 2027 will be held on 28th October 2026 at the Grand Hyatt Kochi. All five franchises have announced their list of retained and released players. It will be a mini-auction this time, after 73 slots were filled at the mega-auction in Delhi for the last season.
RCB enter tournament as defending champions
Each squad can have up to 18 players, of whom a maximum of six can be overseas players. The salary cap for the current cycle is INR 15 crore. The fifth edition of the tournament is scheduled to be played from 14 January to 7 February 2027.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will enter the event as defending champions, having won their second title in 2026 after beating Delhi Capitals (DC) in the final.
