Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have announced a replacement for all-rounder Jamie Overton, who has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026). CSK had earlier informed that Overton suffered a right thigh injury and will be flying back to the UK for further assessment and management.

Meanwhile, Forrester made his international debut for South Africa earlier this year during the five-match T20I series against New Zealand and scored 83 runs in five games.
The 25-year-old had a memorable season in the Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 2026) for Rawalpindiz, scoring 132 runs from six innings at an average of 44 and a thunderous strike rate of 171.42. The right-arm speedster also scalped two wickets during the season.

CSK ranked fifth on points table
Meanwhile, the CSK camp has been hit with several injuries this season, with Overton becoming the fifth player to be ruled out. Earlier, Nathan Ellis, Khaleel Ahmed, Ayush Mhatre and Ramakrishna Ghosh also suffered season-ending injuries.
Legendary wicketkeeper batter MS Dhoni is also recovering from a calf strain and has yet to play a game this season. CSK are currently ranked fifth on the IPL 2026 points table, with six wins from 11 games, having 12 points.
With three matches remaining in the season, they have a great chance to qualify for the playoffs. They will next take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Friday, May 15, at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
