Nandre Burger has been fined 10 per cent of his IPL match fees for committing a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 - "pertaining to using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match". Consequently, the left-arm speedster has also accumulated one demerit point.

The Code of Conduct breach occurred during match No. 32 of the ongoing season between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). Burger has accepted the match referee's decision.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan obliterated Lucknow after scoring 159. The Riyan Parag-led side bundled LSG out for just 119 in 18 overs and registered a convincing 40-run win. Burger was amazing with the ball in hand, dismissing Rishabh Pant for a three-ball duck and getting rid of the half-centurion, Mitchell Marsh.

Pant tried to slog sweep a fullish length ball outside off and got a feather to wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, who made no error in accepting the chance. Burger dismissed Marsh with a well-disguised slower one. He angled it away from Marsh's hitting arc, close to the tramline, and the Aussie tried to go over extra cover but couldn't get any power into the shot and ended up only getting the elevation.

Skipper Parag pouched it safely to end LSG's chances of chasing the target down. Burger conceded 27 runs at 6.75 per over to finish with figures of 2/27. But it was Jofra Archer who finished as the pick of all the Royals bowlers.

The English seamer got the big fish in the form of Aiden Markram for a duck and helped his side in mopping up the tail by dismissing Mohsin Khan and Mayank Yadav. Archer returned figures of 3/20 in his four overs.

Seamer Brijesh Sharma was also impactful, claiming 2/18 in his three overs. Rajasthan are now second on the points table, whereas LSG have slipped to ninth after suffering their fifth loss of the season.
